My mom is a quilter. I grew up with quilts covering the beds and hanging on walls, lap quilts for every upholstered seat in the house, a quilt breathing second life into my youth t-shirts, backup quilts to mollify color mood shifts, even a framed photo of an art quilt featuring appliquéd quilting ladies. I've loved going to the fabric store with my mom since I was a little girl. Searching out and grouping choice patterns was a fun challenge for someone with a premature editorial streak. I dreamed aloud of designing my own patterns one day and now here they are. Inspired by feeling like a fragile frog navigating the streets of NYC on my bike, ogling the pastry case at Lost Larson in Chicago, wondering at Mother Nature's creativity in the treehopper department and revering my first foster dog Frankie, among others.
